The company’s production branch dedicated to packaging films benefits from the extensive and consolidated experience of all staff, as well as the valuable collaboration of high-level technical consultants.
The activity primarily focuses on the production of barrier films, but thanks to the know-how acquired, the company can provide consultancy for the development of other industrial packaging films.
One Life, through a research process based on laboratory tests, sampling, and operational trials in real-world contexts, has always pursued the goal of obtaining a product capable of ensuring maximum technical performance. Furthermore, in recent years, the company has achieved an important milestone: it has managed to make all its barrier products recyclable, meeting the growing demand for sustainability
Features
Following the request of a leading manufacturer of packaging machines, One Life initiated an analytical and detailed study of the characteristics of flat compression systems for polyurethane blocks and mattresses. In 2018, the company began producing a barrier film specifically designed for this application.
The goal was to offer a solution to some of the issues that the previously used product, intended for food packaging, could not address.
The main feature of the barrier film created by One Life is its different layer arrangement; thanks to this structure, once unrolled, the film remains perfectly flat and does not exhibit the defect known as “curling,” which is the curling along the outer edges, a characteristic more or less present in other products on the market.
This results in:
- Increased reliability of the welding process, as a film without curling will position itself uniformly under the lateral sealing bars;
- The possibility of using a narrower film, resulting in cost reduction.

Research and sustainability
After the first years of experience with polyamide-based barrier layers, the need arose to obtain a more recyclable and sustainable packaging film.
The company’s efforts were therefore directed towards developing a film that maintained or increased its oxygen barrier performance, but with new components for the barrier layer that ensured recyclability.
Since 2021, One Life has achieved a considerable milestone: all of the company’s barrier products are now recyclable.
In light of the rising cost of raw materials and the increasing demand for sustainability, the company is currently focusing on developing thinner structures without compromising the necessary performance for the customer.

Flexibility and customization
A significant prerogative that sets One Life apart from other major food barrier film producers is flexibility, which is demonstrated in the ability to develop and customize the product according to the customer’s needs and to plan purchasing programs that allow the customer to manage inventory or price variations over extended periods.
